One chapter in the new book, “40 Days for Life: Discover What God Has Done … Imagine What He Can Do,” focuses on the wildly successful growth of 40 Days for Life across the United Kingdom … thanks in large part to the leadership of a young, proper British gentleman named Robert Colquhoun — now our UK 40 Days for Life campaign director, and coordinator of international expansion.

Since Robert launched the first 40 Days for Life in London in 2010, the campaign has rapidly spread across the United Kingdom, and is currently being held in ten different locations.

I recently traveled “across the pond” for whirlwind visits to these campaigns, and was deeply inspired by what God is doing through the faithful volunteers there. Shawn Carney asked me to share a quick report with you.

I just returned from California and am ready to start the new week by sharing great news. So far during this campaign alone, there have been 319 babies saved from abortion – that we know of.

This means that since 40 Days for Life began as a coordinated campaign in 2007, we are now aware of …

MORE THAN 7 THOUSAND BABIES that God has spared in answer to all of your many hours of prayer.

And this is undeniably God’s work … because sometimes, hearts and minds can be changed without anyone saying a word.

In every 40 Days for Life campaign, at some point, people have all felt the same thing — loneliness. Local leaders and volunteers alike can sometimes think, “Does anyone else care about this?”

Loneliness and discouragement are common temptations — especially
when it comes to standing up to an injustice as great as abortion. That’s why sometimes the greatest motivation for a local 40 Days for Life campaign is … another 40 Days for Life campaign!

Here’s an example.

Here we are – Day 20. I can’t believe we’re at the halfway point already! There’s still a lot of praying to be done, but it’s OK to pause briefly today and count the blessings God has already provided.

As of today, we have reports of …

245 babies (and their mothers, of course) spared from abortion – that we know of!

Here are some of their stories.

The Marines have traditionally put out the call for “a few good men.” Good men in many cities are responding to the call to pray and fast.

Many of the local 40 Days for Life vigils have active and retired military men and women participating. We even have a few retired colonels that lead local campaigns. Their commitment to service and country is inspiring. When you attend the vigil at one location — you just may be joining the navy on the sidewalks!

Thank you to everyone who has come out to pray at 40 Days for Life vigils. If you haven’t had a chance yet, why not go out today?

Saturdays are the busiest days of the week at many abortion centers. Perhaps the Lord is calling YOU to step out in faith today in Pensacola.

Recently, I was in Florida and Texas, where they had one thing they don’t have at many of the 261 vigil locations — warm weather!

In fact, in many cities it’s downright cold. Here are some thoughts — and pictures — from people enduring cold weather with warm hearts.

In yesterday’s message, I talked about prayer volunteers being the first sign of mercy a woman sees after an abortion. But it is also true that on the sidewalks outside the abortion centers, you’re the last sign of hope for the women going in for an abortion.

In many cases, you’re the ONLY sign of hope. And sometimes, that one sign is all that is needed.
