Here is an amazing story about the value of being publicly present in front of an abortion facility to pray.  This is from an e-mail received during last Fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign here in Pensacola dated Friday, October 13th, 2008. Today Members of Council 13527 prayed the Rosary at the Ninth Ave mill. While reciting the Crucifixion mystery a girl in her early 20’s parked her car next to two of our members in prayer.  She thanked them for being there. She said when she was 15 she was to abort her baby but someone was at the clinic praying and I changed my mindShe drove off with a seven year old boy next to her.  What an amazing TRUE story!  Brothers and sisters in Christ, this is why it is so important to go and publicly witness to our community in prayer.  What if that one person had not been there praying?  Would her seven year old son be here today?  Only God knows that answer.  When abortions no longer occur in our country, will you be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say that I did as much as I could have done to save the lives of the unborn?  Take a look at yourself today and ask yourself what you value in life.  If you value life and you see that abortion is wrong, then what are you doing about it?  It’s easy to say you are pro-life, but what action have you taken to change hearts and minds in your own community on the issue of abortion?  In your church?  Have you been apathetic to the fact that children are killed each week here in Pensacola.  Brothers and sisters in Christ most of us drive by Pensacola’s two abortion facilities without thinking about what is going on.  With 40 Days for Life you are given a wonderful opportunity to become involved in the pro-life movement.  40 Days for Life grounds in the right approach (PEACEFUL PRAYERFUL PUBLIC WITNESS and FASTING).  God is calling each and every one of us to do something.  How will you answer the call? To pray in front of the 9th Avenue abortion facility (near Superior furniture), go to the vigil schedule, enter your e-mail address and this will allow you enter the time and date you would like to pray in front of that abortion facility.  May the Peace of Christ be with you!

Link to the vigil schedule: (It can also be accessed from upper right hand corner of the home page as well)

Now you can easily volunteer to pray in front of the abortion facility.  We have lots of holes in the schedule over the next few days.  The success of 40 Days for life depends on how much you become involved.  When we are visibly present lives are saved and hearts and minds are changed!  Lives are depending on you.  Will you be a voice for the voiceless, the innocent unborn!  Women and men are coming to the abortion facility between 8 and 5:30 PM on a daily basis and are “choosing” during that visit to end the life of their child.  If you are there you will see hearts and minds change.  I have had people tell us that because you were here today we decided to keep our baby!

The Fall 2009 campaign for 40 Days for Life has begun!  40 Days of Prayer, Fasting, Peaceful Vigil, and Community Outreach begins today, September 23rd.  This is going to be a year for miracles!  God is going to bless our community!  We look forward to praying with each and every one of you.

If you haven’t already, go to our BRAND NEW, vigil scheduler (upper right hand corner of the website), and sign up for blocks of time.  When you pray in front of the abortion facility ALWAYS bring someone with you.  Please try not to pray by yourself.

If you haven’t gotten your church involved with 40 days for Life yet, in the next few weeks, consider holding a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil volunteer sign-up at your church.  Continue to talk about 40 Days for Life everywhere you go.  Share information about 40 Day for Life with everyone you know in this community as well as other churches and pro-life groups.  If you have a gift for writing, consider writing a letter to the editor about 40 Days for Life.   Consider the many ways you can share the life saving message of 40 Days for Life!  Let our community come together in support for ALL human life.  As we were united to defend the right to prayer in our schools over the past few months, let us continue with the same support when it comes to the unborn and the issue of abortion.  With that same effort, abortion in our community, will cease to exist.  We cannot afford to ignore the issue of abortion any longer.  We MUST become the voice for the voiceless!  We must reach out to the post-abortion parent with Love and Mercy.  Let us put our faith into action.  May God have mercy on us all.

Father, all life is in Your care.

that we may show our brothers and sisters
the same love You have for us.
We pray, then, for the least among us,
the children in the womb.
Protect them from the violence of abortion.
We pray for those that are scheduled to die at
Community Healthcare Center of Pensacola abortion facility.
Save them from death.
Give new hope to their parents,
that they may turn away from the
desperate act of abortion.
Grant conversion to the abortionist and to the staff.
Show us how we are to respond to the
bloodshed in our midst,
And lead us to the day when this place of death
Will be transformed into a haven of life.
Guard us with your joy and your peace,
For in You, life is victorious.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Oración Para El Cierre De Los Centros De Aborto:

Amen.
