The foundation of 40 Days for Life is prayer and fasting (health permitting).  This is coupled with peaceful witness in front of Community Health Care Center of Pensacola.

The visible, public centerpiece of 40 Days for Life is a 40-day, round-the-clock prayer vigil outside a Planned Parenthood center or other abortion facility in your community. Those who are called to stand witness maintain a PEACEFUL, PRAYERFUL, MERCIFUL and educational presence.

This 24-hour-a-day presence sends a powerful message to the community about the tragic reality of abortion. It also serves as a call to repentance for those who work at the abortion center and those who patronize the facility.  Last year we learned that one abortion clinic worker quit after last fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign.  Your prayerful presence does make a difference.

We can only achieve 24 hours of coverage for 40 days if we have your involvement. This week, please ask your pastor if your church could take one day, between September 23rd – November 1st, to stand in front of the 9th Avenue abortion facility (Community Health Care Center of Pensacola).  You can also get your bible study group involved as well as men’s or women’s group involved.  Remember, for those that are Catholic, Bishop Ricard has endorsed 40 Days for Life and encourages your involvement.

40 Days for life is eccumenical. All faiths can and should be involved. We must be united in this peaceful, prayerful effort if we are to see an end to abortion in Pensacola.

Church involvement begins by meeting with local pastors, other church leaders, and members of different congregations.  We need your help with this.  The Body of Christ is invited to pray together and participate in 40 Days for Life, uniting in one focused mission that can save lives and make an eternal impact.  During the past two years we have met 18 post-abortive parents that had been living in silence with the pain of abortion.  They were able to receive information about post-abortive healing ministries such as Rachel’s Vineyard or Silent No More.  If we were not present during those 40 Days, most of these parents would still be living in silence.

Media outreach is conducted through carefully targeted news stories, talk shows, editorials, and letters to the editor. This enables you to get the pro-life message out to many people who would never see the inside of a local church.

If your community has a college campus, many students can be impacted through an intense 40-day campus outreach. This can consist of flyer raids, sidewalk chalking, petition drives, table displays, and much more. We will be having a 40 Days for Life event at UWF this Wednesday, September 2nd!

We need your help with community outreach….post a comment or e-mail us if you would like to help out with this component. If your church does a lot of community outreach, we could use your help in promoting 40 Days for Life.

During 40 Days for Life, the pro-life message is proactively taken to every corner of our community. This can identify hundreds, or even thousands, of pro-life supporters.

A door-to-door petition and education drive reaches out to every household in our town or city. Informational flyers are distributed in neighborhoods to raise awareness about the local crisis of abortion. Citizens are invited to sign a petition of support for the sanctity of human life, and people are given the opportunity to visibly show their support for 40 Days for Life by wearing wristbands, placing signs in their yards, or displaying bumper stickers on their vehicles.  (Heritage House sells these products @

These people can then be encouraged to pray and join in local pro-life efforts.

Please pray and ask God how he could use your time and talents to help out with this year’s 40 Days for Life efforts.  E-mail us here.
