Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. God is good! What a testiment to the power of prayer! What a miracle! Now we just have to make sure that our PRC’s have the resources to help the women and children that will need an open door and loving arms to embrace them and help them make the only choice… LIFE!

You know, sometimes an abortion is necessary to save a life… If a woman has an ectopic pregnancy and her body is not going to resolve it on her own, she AND the baby will die without intervention.

How is it wrong in this case to save the mother when the baby will be lost either way?

This place closing means one less option for women unfortunate enough to land in that situation.

Anon: You raise a good question. It can seem difficult to answer until you really look at the situation.

First of all, you need to realize that ectopic pregnancies are extremely rare (0.03% of all pregnancies), but it does happen, so it needs to be answered nonetheless.

What do you do in a situation where one person or another could die? Isn’t it obvious? You do all that you can to save both lives. I’m no medical expert. I’m just a computer geek, but this is my personal opinion:

If you know beyond the shadow of a doubt that a mother will die if she carries the child any longer, deliver the child and save the mother’s life. Then do all you can to sustain the life of the child, just as any mother would in a normal, “wanted” pregnancy. If the child dies, that’s in the hands of God, but at least you haven’t murdered the innocent child!

Real health care respects life. It does not destroy it.
